Dear Delegate

Our congress is fast approaching and I thought I should send a welcome letter prior to your arrival.

Durban is generally warmer than most of the other provinces in winter but please do not underestimate the cooler temperatures down here at the coast. It can become pretty cold. I suggest that you carry warm clothing to ensure that you keep warm. Also, with the dropping temperatures come the possibilities for influenza outbreaks. We generally sit in closed venues, and if you are exposed to any viruses then you will find it hard to cope. I suggest that you carry the necessary flu medications so that you are well taken care of. Take the flu vaccination if you feel that you are more susceptible to becoming sick.

Just another reminder for those staying in student residences. These are student residences so you cannot expect much from them. We have asked for them to be maintained as clean as possible and we hope that you will be able to enjoy the Edgewood environment. Please carry your own linen and locks for the doors.

We are trying to give you a great conference experience, with a full programme of lectures and workshops and hopefully worthy entertainment.

Looking forward to seeing you in Durban.

Congress Director
